Where to eat in Üsküdar

Üsküdar, on the Asian side, is one Marmaray stop from Sirkeci — but it is not one single food area. The waterfront, the market streets and the Bosphorus villages offer very different meals. Filizler is in one of them, Salacak; we describe the others honestly too.

Salacak waterfront — for the view

Directly across from the Maiden’s Tower, with the Old City skyline and the sunset. Cafés and restaurants line the road; the most popular stretch for breakfast and dinner. Filizler Üsküdar is here: köfte, grills and breakfast, 08:00–23:00.

Üsküdar pier square — quick and traditional

Around the ferry pier and the Marmaray exit: tradesmen’s restaurants (esnaf lokantası), bakeries, fish sellers. No view, but the easiest to reach. The Mihrimah Sultan and Yeni Valide mosques are here.

Kuzguncuk — a quiet afternoon

A small old Bosphorus village just north of Üsküdar (~3 minutes by car from Salacak): narrow streets, small cafés; busy at weekends.

Çengelköy — breakfast on the Bosphorus

Tea gardens and breakfast places on the water, ~7 minutes by car from Salacak without traffic; the coast road is slow at weekends.

Which one to choose

  • Maiden’s Tower and Old City views: Salacak.
  • A quick meal between ferry and train: the pier square.
  • A stroll and small cafés: Kuzguncuk.
  • A long breakfast by the Bosphorus: Çengelköy.
